Making Zen Online Retreat

A FREE 5-day online retreat for textile artists and enthusiasts of all levels!

Making Zen is a five day online retreat that gathers 30 professional textile artists to lead free workshops that will help you learn new skills and embrace the power of zen with slow intentional stitching whilst getting inspired by a community of creators just like you.

This year I have contributed to Making Zen with a new workshop, Traces of Touch: Exploring Layering, Texture and Motif.

In this 30-minute recorded workshop, we’ll explore the hand as a simple yet powerful motif, using layered fabrics, cut-away techniques and hand stitch to create an expressive textile study. We’ll play with texture, transparency, positive and negative space, and discover how even the smallest fabric scraps can be transformed into something meaningful.

The workshop is designed to encourage slow, intuitive and playful making, with plenty of opportunities to personalise your piece through your choice of fabrics, colour, texture and stitch. It’s suitable for all levels and a lovely way to spend a little time slowing down, experimenting and connecting with your creativity.ver it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
