A Seasonal Scroll – Online Workshop
Friday 18th September 18:00pm - 20:15pm GMT
OR
Sunday 20th September 10:00am - 12:15pm GMT
This Seasonal Scroll workshop takes place at the Autumn Equinox, a moment of balance when day and night stand in equal measure and the wheel of the year turns towards autumn. Traditionally known as Mabon, it is a time of harvest, gratitude and gentle reflection.
It’s a season of gathering in, noticing what has come to fruition, acknowledging what has sustained you, and reflecting on the experiences, lessons and growth of the months behind you. As nature begins to slow and prepare for rest, we too are invited to pause and take stock.
In this workshop, we’ll use scrolls as a way to mark this seasonal threshold, stitching together thoughts, memories, observations and intentions. You can add to an existing scroll or begin a new one, allowing your stitching to hold the stories of the season and the things you wish to carry forward.
The focus is on balance and transition, between holding on and letting go, activity and rest, gratitude and preparation. Through slow, mindful making, you'll create space to reflect on the harvest of the year so far and set gentle intentions for the quieter months ahead.
What to expect
A live 2 hr 15 min Zoom workshop (choose a morning or evening session)
A chance to connect with like-minded stitchers in a supportive space
Gentle seasonal prompts to guide your making and reflection
Demonstrations of techniques for starting and building your scroll
Time to stitch together, share, and ask questions
after the workshop you have the option of joining a face book group to share you work and keep in touch with participants
What is included
A comprehensive pre-class e-book (digital product, emailed separately after payment is received). This is yours to keep and can be used both before and after the workshop.
Suggestions for continuing your scroll beyond the session.
Practical details
Length: 2 hrs 15 mins
Format: Live on Zoom
One morning and one evening session available (same content, different times)
Zoom details will be sent one week before the workshop.
The workshop will be recorded and the replay link will be emailed to participants within 48 hours. Attending live offers the best experience but the recording ensures you will not miss out.
A list of materials will be provided in advance, with flexibility to use what you already have at home.
This workshop is a taster for a longer course I am developing and an opportunity to begin without waiting for everything to be perfect. Whether you create a small, portable scroll or a larger unfolding piece, you will leave with a meaningful start and the inspiration to keep going.
I want my workshops to be accessible to everyone while ensuring I’m fairly paid for my time. To support this, I’ve set my pricing slightly higher so that I can offer free places to students, those who are unemployed, or anyone who cannot afford to pay.
For every 8 spaces sold, I’ll offer 1 free spot. If you’d like to be considered, just email me to be added to the list—no questions asked, no proof required. I trust you. Free spots will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
